Online Safety Guidance

Lessons on Internet Safety

The first ICT lesson of each seasonal term (with regular reminders) for all classes will focus on the safe and responsible use of the internet to reflect the latest e-safety guidance and issues. This process will be repeated (termly) throughout the course of the year. Lessons will be progressive and on occasion an open class discussion will be used to respond to internet safety concerns raised by the pupils.

The school and governing body have adopted conditions for internet use, which are designed to maximise use of the internet as a learning resource and minimise unacceptable behaviour and access to inappropriate materials.

All users have been made aware of the conditions of use. Teachers will share with the pupils the School’s ‘Use of the Internet by Pupils Agreement’ (see documents below). These are age appropriate and will be signed by the pupils at the earliest opportunity.

Parents, guardians, and carers have been made aware of the conditions of use for the internet through the sharing of a template of the School’s ‘Use of the Internet by Pupils Agreement’. These will be shared at the ‘Meet and Greet’ in the first term.
