Maths Vision Statement
At Fairview, we use the White Rose planning documents, which follow the National Curriculum for mathematics, ensuring a cohesive, sequenced curriculum across the school. We take a mastery approach to the teaching of maths, enabling the children to acquire skills and knowledge needed to develop a secure and deeper understanding of the key concepts. Through this, we want to create a life-long love understanding of mathematics, preparing them to be more confident for future mathematical enquiry in secondary school and later life as well as developing an enjoyment for the subject. Adopting the school values, children are taught to think and reason mathematically, apply skills fluently and efficiently and take responsibility for their learning, which will then transfer to the world around them.
