Our Nursery

Welcome to Caterpillars Nursery!

At Fairview, we are lucky to have our very own nursery - the wonderful Caterpillars!

At Caterpillars Nursery, we believe that every big journey begins with little steps—and we’re here to make sure those first steps are full of wonder, care, and joy!

Our nursery is a warm and welcoming place where curiosity is encouraged, imaginations soar, and friendships begin to blossom. From magical story times and messy play, to outdoor adventures and quiet mindfulness, every day is packed with exciting opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun.

Our experienced and nurturing team ensures every child feels safe, loved, and celebrated for who they are. With thoughtfully planned activities, a rich learning environment, and a strong focus on personal development, we support each little Caterpillar as they begin their journey of becoming confident, happy learners.

So come and take a peek—there’s so much to explore in Caterpillars Nursery, where tiny hands create big dreams!

Nursery Admissions

We take children from the term after their 3rd birthday, so this means...

3-year-olds will be able to start a funded nursery place in the September, January or April following their third birthday.

Your child’s birthday must be before:

  • 31 March to be eligible for funded nursery education from the Summer Term (April)
  • 31 August to be eligible for funded nursery education from the Autumn Term (September)
  • 31 December to be eligible for funded nursery education from the Spring term (January)

These are the cut-off dates. If your child’s birthday is, for example, on the 1st or 2nd January and the term starts on the 5th January, unfortunately their funding will not start until the summer term after Easter because they have passed the cut-off date of 31st December.

We are delighted to be able to offer up to 30 hours of provision and, if required, your child can stay all day and bring a packed lunch to eat in school.

Nursery sessions are as follows:

Morning Session: 8:45am to 11:45am

Lunch: 11:45am to 12:30pm

Afternoon Session: 12:30pm to 3:30pm

You may choose a combination of these sessions dependent on your requirements and funding arrangements (minimum of 3 sessions each week) - please contact the office for further details or to register your interest.

Staying for Lunch

Please click on the document below for advice and ideas for healthy lunch boxes.

Attendance at the nursery does not automatically give your child a place in Reception when they are eligible. This place has to be applied for online via Medway Council. Please click here for our admission arrangements.
