VE Day

Street Party Celebrations

We have all thoroughly enjoyed learning about WW2 during Term 3 & 4 this year. We rounded off our learning with an end of term VE Day street party to celebrate the end of the war and victory in Europe.

Thank you to all our visitors who joined us for the afternoon and shared their stories with us.

Well done to all the children who made such an effort to dress up and bring in tasty treats. There were some impressive and very tasty home-made cakes and biscuits!

Celebrating Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month, Harry shared an amazing story about his great grandfather, Asquith Xavier. Forty years ago, he changed the face of race relations in Britain, after beating a colour bar on the railways.

Use the link below, to find out more about his inspirational story which was featured on The One Show (06/10/16).

A big thank you to Harry and his mum for taking the time to share their family story with us.
